When you grow up in Indiana farming country, dreaming of doing what your musical heroes like Waylon, Willie, the Hag and Roger Miller do, a musical adventure like this is a dream come true. That’s what Music City, circa: Yesteryear was, an artistic dream realized. Working with the likes of the musicians on this project made me feel humbled, blessed and validated as well. Their reaction to the songs, arrangements and production was invaluable. If you go on line and read about the accomplishments of Charlie McCoy, Kenny Sears, Dolye Grisham and Scott Goudeau you’ll know why I felt like I was in high cotton. Add to them the talent of vocalist Polly B. and you have the makings of musical magic. What I strived for was authenticity and you can be the judge as to whether or not I achieved it. I don’t know if I’ll live long enough to feel this kind of magic again but one can always dream, right? After all, if you don’t have’ em, they can’t come true.
