Kenny Sears

“Papa Jack has been coming to Nashville for a lot of years, always armed with his sagas and his ideas of how they could be formed into songs. He is a truly unique writer; unlike anything we do on a daily basis. I’m proud I could be a part of these projects, all for the benefit of Matty’s Vision. He’s a great guy with a great cause.”

Doyle Grisham
Doyle Grisham, decorated music row sound engineer, session player for many artists including all of Randy Travis’ hits, road musician for many artists early in his career, a member of Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer band member for over 3 decades and the steel player on his records plus an accomplished “multiple instrument” A player including the dobro.
“When I met Jack and heard about the foundation he and Tammy had, I was interested in helping out. Hal was a friend and it sounded like a worthwhile cause, but I had no idea what working with Papa Jack would be like. I found him to be a solid guitarist, a truly gifted writer of some of the longest and most entertaining songs I’ve ever recorded. He is a storyteller in the truest sense of the word, and I’ve worked with a few in my time.”
In reference to Papa Jack’s longer story songs he quips:
“When he comes into my studio to start working on a song, I reserve about ten minutes of recording space because some of these sagas are long compared to commercial songs. I have played out with him several times though and even though they are full blown stories nobody leaves, and they all listen. That’s saying something.”

Eddie Glass

“Papa Jack writes and records as a slave to the script of the story, length and commercial standards be damned.”
Eddie Glass
